She was an incredibly vital part of the movement to get students involved in social justice, through the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, or SNCC. She worked closely with Martin Luther King Jr. to create a student leadership wing within his well-known organization, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. For her involvement with these communities, she should be recognized.

The textbook does not mention either of these names. I think it would have been good to include him under some sort of sports section.
