The Bolsheviks took over and soon came in power and the leader of it was Vladimir Lenin.(Info. of Vladimir above) Vladimir becomes a dictator and his gov. became allies with Germany. But people tried to stop the Bolshevik but never succeed. Like the Anti-bolshevik and so the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics were made.

Tsar Nicholas II was a dictator and didn't believe in democracy. Because of their ideas about democracy the US refused to have an alliance with Russia and join the war. Because of the February Revolution (see above) on March 2, 1917 Tsar Nicholas II abdicated the throne. This left the State Duma in charge with the Petrograd Soviet party who formed a provisional government that supported democracy. With their new democratic government the US joined the war with an alliance with Russia. However by the end of the war a new party was in charge of Russia.
