At the beginning of the year, our students will post an educational goal on seesaw they have for the year. As the year goes on we will check in with updates and achievements. This will provide the students and parents with a visual of what has been accomplished throughout the year.

Secondary biology and history

Students could learn about the history of Darwinism while incorporating a simulation lab and Kahoot. The simulation lab would explore the themes of natural selection which is a key factor in Darwinism. The Kahoot would be a good reflection of material reviewed in class and could act as a form of formative assessment.

Watch a video of the state song
Make a slideshow about their specific state
Students will use trusted websites to find their information
Students will work through a graphic organizer to organize their information
They can choose 6 out of 10 topics about their state to discuss in the slideshow
They have to make a fun and interactive game to do with the class (quizziz, Kahoot, quizlet live)

Riley and Fiona Age 8-11

Students age band 8-11 are learning about Mount Rushmore. Students should pair up with a partner and create a new Mount Rushmore, with important people from the past year or two. Like Simone Biles as a representation for women in sports and a mental health advocate. Students could do a gallery walk to represent their new people or a prezi web thing.

Age 12-14

Each week a designated group creates a review game using questions from a given review sheet. After the game, the students will take their weekly quiz. Once every group has gone the class will then take a poll on which method helped them most before taking a quiz. This relates to empowered learner standard 1.c

for ages 12+, caity and I chose to combine our majors of history and English and do a lesson on the history of English. In the beginning of class we thought we could do a Kahoot on how much the students already know ( not expecting them to know a lot ) and then focus on the questions that the kahoot asked during the duration of class ( the history of English) and then save the last 15 minutes or so to retake the Khaoot to see how much knowledge they have gained

At the beginning of the lesson students can set one goal that they want to achieve. At the end of the lesson, students will be able to reflect on their goal and determine if they had met it or not. The teacher will make a kahoot with questions related to the previous unit to assess what students are struggling on and what students are understanding.
