My parents are from El Salvador and came to the United states after being threatened in our country. I am the youngest and only daughter my parents had. I have two older brothers. Since I am the only girl in my family, everyone is very protective over me.

I am currently majoring in psychology right now, but my ultimate goal is to become a nurse and specialized in midwife nursing or in CRNA. Although I'm not studying nursing right now, I will began to take my perquisites very soon and by the time I do graduate from Dominguez, I hope that I be done with my prerequisites and hopefully will be admitted into a nursing program. For this reason I choose to go to school, what push me to go to CSUDH is that I wanted a school close by home where it would allow me to still look after my parents while getting an education and working at the same time.

The reason why I choose to take APP 315 is because, I've taken African studies and Chicano studies, in my mind I believe its important to learn outside of your circle or what you're accustom too, learning about other things provides knowledge, learning about different groups of people or places give knowledge and knowledge is key, being open minded is powerful when we still live in a society where racism unfortunately still exist, being that one individual that can break that cycle of being ignorant and not wanting to learn of other groups of people makes you knowledgeable and powerful. ]]> 2021-01-27 01:46:09 UTC https://padlet.com/sgarcia489_3/hn0ryivxc7n47o2i/wish/1129595514 sgarcia489_3 https://padlet.com/sgarcia489_3/hn0ryivxc7n47o2i/wish/1129658535 This year I turned 20 years old due to covid 19, no huge gathering were allowed and for my birthday nothing was planned but my family decided to throw me a small little gathering, although for many people including myself hate covid 19, the small surprise my family threw for me was definitely something needed, it brought us together during a harsh time like this it made us become closer and for moment stop thinking of all the damage that this pandemic has brought. All the stress to be release just for a while made everything just a little better. One of my newest hobby is actually cooking, just recently I stopped working which means that I'm home everyday with nothing to do other than clean and watch whatever is new on Netflix, so recently I started to learn how to cook and I've been so obsess doing new recipes and eating something new during the week, this has definitely helped me keep my mind busy and with something to do.

Another hobby of mine is going and trying out new places, I love to eat new food places and see if they are good. Almost every weekend my boyfriend and I end up at a new eating spot that we find on Instagram. Talking about new places I also love going out and being adventurous, I love going to new places and seeing the beauty of our environment.
