         <title>(FUNGI) Sporothrix schenckii  is a dimorphic fungus, a fungi-like eukaryotic creature with a non-mobile, heterotrophic cell wall that contains chitin. The fungus is found in soil, decaying woods, thorns, and on infected animals including rats, eats, dogs, and horses. In infected tissues, the fungus is seen as cigar shaped yeast cells, without mycelia. Spore is the infective stage of the fungus. It causes infection primarily on the hand or the forearm through direct contact of the skin by spores.</title>

         <title>(YEAST FORM) BLASTOMYCES DERMATITIDIS - The Blastomyces dermatitidis yeast form is spherical, thick-walled, and large, with a broad base. It can be thermally dimorphic, growing as a mold at lower temperatures and changing into the yeast form when inhaled. It reproduces by producing a single bud. The yeast form can generate a capsule that increases its resistance to phagocytosis. It is usually light brown or yeast-colored. Only qualified personnel should handle this pathogen due to its risk.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Paracoccidioidomycosis, a systemic mycosis primarily seen in Central and South America, is caused by the fungus Paracoccidioides brasiliensis. The fungus can take on two different morphological forms: the mold phase and the yeast phase—due to a process known as dimorphic transition. While the yeast phase is linked to host infection, the mold phase usually happens in the environment. The fungal species develop as a mold at room temperature (<strong>19–25°C</strong>) and are then known as the saprophytic phase.  During the mold phase, its cell wall like other fungi is composed of various components which provide structural integrity and protection. It usually comprises a complex matrix made up of chitin, glycoproteins, and polysaccharides. N-acetylglucosamine polymer chitin has a crucial structural role in the fungal cell wall. <br>Mannoproteins and other glycoproteins are also present in the cell wall, adding to its structure and functionality. The mold phase is more adapted to the colder climatic conditions present in soil and other substrates than the yeast phase, which grows at higher temperatures inside the host's body. This can be considered a saprophytic fungus that feeds on decomposing organic waste in the surrounding environment while it is in the mold phase. It uses conidia, asexual spores produced by the mold phase, to help spread and survive in its surroundings.<br>The fungus can spread to new areas with the help of air currents or other mechanisms carrying the conidia. For Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, the capacity to switch between the mold and yeast phases is an essential component of pathogenicity.  Conidia or mycelial fragments can change into the yeast phase in reaction to the physiological circumstances of a host upon inhalation by a susceptible host, hence commencing infection. It is non-pathogenic, unlike its yeast phase. <br><br> </p>]]></description>
