         <description><![CDATA[<div>This semester I'm working with 2  Fifth Grader classes. &nbsp;<br>Class 5D - 16 students<br>class 5E - 18 students&nbsp;<br><br>Very interesting morning &nbsp;<br>Academic : content - lesson ELA<br>Social : Interaction with other and how they display self-control<br>Behavior: How well they follow the rules.<br><br>First group was very engaging. Interacted very well, listened and fun to be around.&nbsp;<br>Second group was harder to manage. Less interaction and din't listen well. &nbsp;<br>In order to keep the class behaving the amazing teacher decided for them to do a writing piece.&nbsp; The Q was What does respect means?<br><br>Next week we will start working on our first lesson.&nbsp; Which is making" inferences"<br>Today was more to get to know them as well as them getting to know us.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Same lesson for both classes<br>Today's lesson was a review on &nbsp; "Inference"<br><br>1/ Morning meeting+<br>2/The all about Me Gazette: &nbsp;<br>To do section F<br>3/Peter!<br>4/Lesson: Making Inferences+<br>clues from the text plus what your already know= Inference<br>5/Individual/Group work+<br>6/Share<br>Over plan....<br>7/Journal Entry<br>8/ Exit Ticket.... it is a must!+<br><br>Star indicates... must do .. the other we can skip if no time.<br><br>With booth classes we went through the whole lesson...<br>It was an amazing class. Hands on, kids interacted with teacher , students interacted with each other.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br>Student to student and teacher to student.<br>Great day!!!<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Yesterday' s lesson was a 2 day lesson<br>Student will be able  to determine the meaning of tricky words in a text.<br>I will see the second lesson next Saturday.<br>I was unable to see the lesson because we learned how to do a running record.<br>Thereafter,  we were asked to test the children from 2nd grade. (we were left with the children... the instructor who was supposed to come back never did).<br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Go Project: Student Teaching November 3rd, 2018</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today's class was on Theme<br>I was not in class again.  Were instructed to do the running record. <br>One of the child was struggling with vocabulary so<br>I gave her a list of  the words that she had problem with and asked her to work on it with her mom so she can go up a level.<br><br> When I went to my class, the teacher told me that first class followed instruction very well by themselves but the second class din't.<br>Kids had to think about theme.  The story was <br> " The Golden Nugget" <br>I came into the end of the second group  and the teacher had place them into groups to read the story and answer the questions by themselves. and they were also guided.<br>the other class was independent reading.  they participated amazingly.<br><br>Unfortunately, my teacher wanted for me to lead the class today so i could get practice for next week observation but that didn't happen because i had to do the running record :(<br><br>Last week and this week i brought food to the class because children came to class complaining how angry their were. Now they can concentrate better in class with a full stomach :)<br><br>I asked the Go Project if i could keep coming next year so i can get more practice. They said it should not be a problem.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Go Project: Student Teaching Observation Day ! November 10th, 2018                 Compare &amp; contrast</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Today was for me to be observed.<br><br>Prior to practicing with my first class, I practiced with my in class volunteer.  They gave me great feed back.  Positive &amp; negative.<br>I taught my lesson with 5d as a demo in preparation for my observation with 5E.<br><br>I fist told my first class that i needed them to help me with my lesson.<br>I asked them to tell me after I am done with my lesson to let me know how i can grow as an educator. I asked them to tell me the pros and cons of my lesson.<br><br>I started with the vocabulary with visual and then i used a large display of a bubble map.<br>I also used 2 volunteers to demonstrate the purpose of comparing and contrasting. <br> Right after, we jumped in into the reading and demonstration for them to duplicate the lesson with the freedom of working by themselves or with a partner.<br>Then when they were finished i asked them to share their findings.<br>Then students where giving a question to answer in alignment with the lesson aas an exit ticket<br>throughout my lesson i made sure to award them  with high five and the ticket.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Children worked on their exit tickets but prior to completing their exit tickets, they work on a journal entry as entry tickets (Morning meeting then exit ticket)</div><div><br></div><div>A majority of them completed their exit tickets quickly than the teacher had predicted. <br>The score ranged from <br>3-6 ... with the highest score being 6<br>They were also tested for they reading level.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My teacher was sick today, therefore, a substitute teacher come to take over. She was very strong. First class responded very well when the class  didn't. <br>She improvised and had them  to write down what they had done for Thanksgiving. Followed by reading an article on "The doors are open again at New York's fancy FAO Schwarz toy store" and answer the questions pertaining to the article.<br>Exit ticket was a question about the article.  Students had to write down on a piece of paper " what was the article about 6 sentences"<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Go Project is a supportive opportunity for children focus on their education. Go Project is a good opportunity for students to supplement their education and refresh any skills that they may be missing in their regular Monday-Friday classroom.  <br><br>Brooke is very welcoming, heart-warming presence in the morning.  <br><br>Background knowledge should be known by teacher in order to help the kids<br><br>Teacher should be more in control of the classroom (now allowing kids to run out, go to the bathroom on their own, going to get water as they please).<br><br>snack should either be at the end of the period, or during the transition<br><br>Teachers need to understand when to move onto the next topic<br><br>High school volunteers should just not be there, they are not appropriate with the kids, and don't know the ways in which to teach the children,  and should never be on their phones. <br><br>Recess is a waste of time, and distracts from learning goals of the students. Children should be sent to the library to search for books....<br><br>There should be a focus on the fundamental skills that they are missing, and broad lessons should not assigned to all students. <br><br></div>]]></description>
