Course Description:  The Leadership and Management course includes being able to problem solve, improve quality of healthcare by applying the use of evidence-based practice, and demonstrate communication skills in leadership roles.  

Assignment Description:  To present a power point narrated presentation of a Change Project recently completed either from a clinical setting or work experience.  

Why I chose this sample from the course: I chose this project because I was very involved in a one year pre-pilot with a small group of nurses which provided me great insight on how important the process, decisions, and change by leadership can make for a company.  The presentation highlights my creative side, application of evidence-based practice, ability to problem solve, and effectively communicate the importance of change.

Course Description:  To demonstrate the use of effective and organized communication. 

Assignment Description: Create a persuasive solo speech.  Show use of organization of thought process and effective communication on any topic choice. 

Why I chose this sample: A big work in progress for me is public speaking.  As I continue to strive to become more comfortable, I feel it is important to recognize weaknesses and give credit where improvements are made when due.  This sample shows that with practice and determination, a persuasive speech can be achieved.
