I remember back in 2020 where racism against African American people was a big society issue when the killing of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd from police brutality sparked conversation all over nationwide.  I just remembered reading numerous articles, and looking at the news surrounding these incidents.  As an African American female you never know what to expect when these types of issues happen surrounding your own kind. All I remember is I was scared to even go outside because of how horrible my people were being treated. It hurt me to even see that they were being killed due to their skin color. I just knew eventually I'll have to go out for something and I did as I proceeded to go to the look officers begin to look and at that very moment I just remember locking eyes with an officer who had this cold look on his face.  His facial expression was so cold to the point I started to feel overwhelmed and uncomfortable.  I just didn't trust police officers anymore after the constant police brutality happening. It just goes to show that you can't even trust the heroes that are supposed to protect you from danger.

As time settled flyers begin to get passed around that there is going to be a Black Lives Matter movement. So fast forward sometime in 2020 I went to the movement with my mom, stepdad, and cousins. I have never been to a serious event like this one but I do know I enjoyed listening to what the protestors were saying and fighting for. They were protesting for equal rights, stopping racism,  and allowing black people to use their voices. The police officers didn't really care about what protests were saying, they were listening but didn't really show any emotion.  They had their hands on their guns already prepared to get drawn on protestors. It really made no sense. I was overwhelmed and scared at all the chaos that was happening. But I knew I was there for a good reason. What would you do at a Black Lives Matter Movement?
