The first event that is when he is at the a museum on a field trip. After getting into trouble Mrs. Dodds makes Percy go inside. After Mrs. Dodds leads Percy back to where they were before lunch, so they were alone. Percy has no idea what is going on ,but right before Mrs. Dodds tries to kill Percy, Mr. Brunner, his Latin teacher, throws him a pen which and when Percy catches it turns into a sword. With one slash at Mrs. Dodds she turned into a yellow powder. After this Percy goes on summer break failing out of another school. Taking a bus to his mothers little apartment. Then they leave for Montauk Beach. While having a nightmare Percy wakes up and Grover shows, and Percy's mother and Grover then take him to camp Half-Blood. Before they could get to the border of the camp they are attacked by the Minotaur. Percy would't leave Grover or his mother so he tried to save them both, but the Minotaur kill his mother. Then Percy loses his temper and attacks the Minotaur and kill him. After defeating the Minotaur Percy passes out for a few days. After being at camp for a week Percy gets quest then sets out with Annabeth and Grover. While on the bus out of New York three old ladies get on the bus which turn out to be Furies. After escaping them the trio flee into the woods. Percy then fights Medusa and cuts her head off. Then Percy travels to St. Louis where he fights Echidna and her rabid, fire-breathing, poisonous dog Chimera and on the St. Louis arch then Percy falls into the river. Percy fights Procrustes the Stretcher and cuts his head off. He also gets magical pearls from Nereid, a spirit of the sea. Percy even retrieves Ares' shield from an abandoned water park called Water Land .When entering the Underworld Percy and Annabeth befriends Cerberus, Hades's three-headed dog. Percy then confronts Hades. Then Percy yells at Hades for stealing the bold. So then Hades tells Percy to open up his backpack, which he realizes suddenly got heavy. When he opened it up there was Zeus' Master bolt, so Hades' tells him to give it to him and threatens him with his army of dead. So Percy throws the pearls that Nereid gave to him so he could escape the Underworld. When he appears on the beach of L.A. Ares appears to him and reveals that he stole Zeus' Master bolt and Hades' Helm of Darkness and put them in Percy's bag when he last met him. A battle between them ensues and Percy ends up using the water to his advantage and stabbing Ares in the heel. Ares lays a curse on Percy that says whenever he's in battle he'll feel the curse. Then Ares vanishes in a bright gold shining light.

Then Percy flies back to New York to return the Master Bolt back to Zeus and the Helm of Darkness back to Hades, but I choose a different one. When Luke, one of Percy's friends betrays him after he finishes his quest and returns back to Camp Half-Bood where demi-god children live their life. Percy and Luke are talking alone in the forest when all of a sudden Luke summons a posionous scorpion that sits on Percy's leg. Luke then reveals how Kronos asked Luke to help him rise from Tartarus where he his trapped. Luke is already mad at the Gods of Olympus for giving him a lame quest where he had to steal an apple from the Garden of Hesperides. So it isn't hard for Kronos to get Luke to help him. Luke then reveals that Ares is working for Kronos too. Then Luke vanishes and Percy jumps up and slices at the scorpion killing it only to realize it bit him in the process.

First the local takes place at Yancy Academy. Then Percy's mothers apartment in Queens. At Montauk Beach is when Percy has a nightmare that leads his mom taking him to camp half-blood. On his quest Percy, Annabeth, and Grover make stops Auntie Em's Gnome Garden ,Gateway Arch, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles which is the entrance to the underworld.

When Zeus's lightning bolt was stolen Poseidon was accuses of stealing it because of the power it possess and he is the only one able to use the bolt. Poseidon then claims Percy as his and that requires his help to find Zeus's lightning bolt because he is being accused of stealing it. Percy who is a half-blood is then able to get training that he needs at camp half blood in order to retrieve Zeus's lightning bolt and makes peace. Percy accepts a quest to find Zeus's lightning bolt because Hades has taken his mother. After returning from the underworld Percy is confronted by his friend Luke who reveals that he is the lightning thief and together they should bring back Kronos the father of the three great gods. Other theme would be that the friendship of the demigod is very important, be one will have to be willing to sacrifice themselves to save the others and compete their quest.
