I model supportive teamwork by jumping in when needed, setting up collaborative teams and asking for and giving help. I challenge staff to do their best and believe that they will try.

I will take time to slow down and breathe to be able to make space for another staff member who may need to share. This will hopefully engender more connection and model empathy for others.

I believe I cultivate supportive teamwork when I offer to help/model small groups and present Dinosaur school materials. I offer resources to them and advise on classroom skills.

I believe I challenge staff to do their best. I have my own high expectations but try to individualize for each staff to push just enough to move them forward without becoming overwhelmed. to try something new, to deepen their own understanding, to continue building their skills, etc.

I want to try to encourage staff to show more empathy. We work in such a difficult time/field that approaching teammembers with empathy will help us stay grounded and build trust when we have challenges we can count on each other.

I am so excited about the Relationship piece this week. I have a lot of new leaders on my team and its wonderful to see how everyone is working together and strengthening our relationships.

My strength is modeling empathy. I actually annoy my coworkers because I usually try to view things in a forgiving light.

Though, I do have the equal ability to be petty, I try to keep it tamped down lol!

Some of my strengths when cultivating relationships within my staff members is working side by side with my teachers when they need it.

When it comes to fostering trust and encouraging them to be problem solvers, I will start by listening to what they have to say. Validate their feelings. And then ask them how they think the situation should be handled. This will encourage them to think about the situation and a possible answer. This will also tell them that I trust them to take control. (If additional help is needed, I will step in, of course).

Iris B. My challenge is: I spend a lot of time working individually with staff. People often prefer to work remotely - and that's okay. However it has a strong impact on what our team looks like. We work less as a team - and more as individuals. So my goal as a leader is to try and bring "team work" back into the organization.

I feel I cultivate a supportive teamwork. I am always looking for new ways to have the staff interact with each other. I like to use books to help staff grow so this year we are using Stick Together by Jon Gordon and Kate Leavell. We meet weekly and talk about the different ways we can improve our team.

I'm a Head Start lead teacher getting trained to become the Education Coordinator of our program. Our program consists of both Head Start and Early Head Start. Since I have very little experience with 0-3, I'm taking some trainings to gain that knowledge. I'm now attached to many extra curricular meetings while in the process of preparing for this new position. So that means that I'm out if the classroom more than I would like. My strategy is to make a block of time in the morning dedicated to my classroom and my staff.
