Hello, I'm Professor Michelle Sims. I've been teaching with AWC for many years and love to help students learn Economics. In 2018, I reached one of my long-term academic goals by earning my Doctorate in Business. I'm so thankful it's done! As far as interesting facts...I was born in Germany, have jumped out of an airplane at midnight with a full combat-load of equipment, and I love to kayak each week. I hope we have a GREAT semester!

Hello everyone! I'm Rocio Saldana. I was born and raised in Mexicali, B.C. and came to the US when I was 8 years old. I graduated AWC a few years back with an Associate in Administration of Justice. My interest in Marketing grew about 5 years ago when i began working for the company that I am currently with. My goal is to complete my Associates at AWC and transfer to U of A. I love traveling, kayaking and exploring the outdoors with my family. Looking forward to this class and learning new things!

Hello, I'm Milagros Ovante and I'm from from San Luis. What can I say, I've always been the artistic type. My major is Media Arts, but I plan to move to Studio Art to become an art teacher. Hello everyone, my name is Emelyn Knesovich. I am a student here in Arizona Western College, and it is my second year here. I am currently taking AA in business. My goal is to finish my degree with honor. I know few more months and I am going to be done with my college, then few more years to go to finish my bachelors. Furthermore, about some interesting facts about me; I was born in the Philippines and lived in Tokyo Japan for many years. I can speak 3 languages fluently and one intermediate. Also, I love to sing and I used to sing on public gatherings.

Hi everyone!
My name is Luiza Ribeiro, I currently live here in Yuma and go to school full time at Arizona Western. I plan to continue my education at ASU but am still a little undecided about what to get a bachelors or masters degree in… An interesting fact about myself is that I used to ride a motorcycle, I sold it because it is a little too hot here in Yuma to ride year round but I plan on getting another one once I move. The picture I attached is my 3 dogs which I love very very much, they are my babies. Hope everyone has an awesome semester!!

Hi! My name is Brianna Harpel. My long term goals academically are somewhat complicated, I don't intend to get a degree and am selecting classes based upon their relevancy to my personal goals. That means I'm currently attending an online trade school for face painting while also taking marketing and business related classes at AWC and independently studying writing by purchasing books and attending various workshops and classes online. I intend to expand my face painting business, which I began at 13, as well as learn to independently publish fiction and fantasy books. This probably explains one interesting thing about me: that I'm an author and artist. I'm currently on track to publish a series of short stories next year and in the mean time, I regularly post poems on my blog and art on Instagram.

Greetings to all!! My name is Grace Ghiotto, but everyone calls me Gracie, either name is fine. In all honesty, I've been enrolled in AWC for a quite long time, but now I've finally decided to finish up my schooling. I wasted a lot of years, but I will finish. I've decided to change to business, so I'm started fresh again. So I guess my long term goal academically would be to finish my schooling and work towards my bachelor's. Truthfully, I don't think there's in anything interesting about myself, I live a boring and quiet life, if I'm not at home or at work, I usually spend time at my sisters. I was employed in the marketing business for 16 years and I enjoyed everything about it. I would like to wish everyone good luck with you academics from here on out. Hi everyone! My name is Aimara Luna and I am 22 years old. I grew up in Bisbee Arizona which is a very small historical town. I spent most my life there until I moved to Yuma almost two years ago. It was a scary and difficult choice for me, especially being the first of my family to actually move away, but my dog definitely helped me with the homesickness. Hi everyone! My name is Addyson Rubin, but everyone calls me Addy. I am 19 years old and I grew up in Holtville, Ca which is about 45 minutes from Yuma. Hello everyone!!! I am excited to start my classes this semester. My name is Karen Ahumada and I graduated last semester with my Associate in Business. I am about to start my first semester with my Bachelor of Science in Accounting, but I am taking this at the college as a transfer class. I do not have carefully planned out academic goals or a timeline because as I grew older I realized that life happens and sometimes I just have to go with the flow. For the time being I do know that I will get my bachelors and hopefully go more into the business side of accounting. With everything going on I've been enjoying going on hikes and just being outdoors in the safest way possible. I was born in Yuma, but grew up in Guaymas, Sonora, MX. It is this small city with beautiful beaches and the majority of my family lives there. I want to travel and see all the breathtaking places this Earth has to offer, but more than anything I want to make my family proud and be as happy as I can be.

Hello, my name is Alan Macias. I was apart of the high school graduating class of 2020. But this is my second year taking AWC classes. My long term academic goal is that I plan on earning my associates degree in business. Hopefully I can accomplish this goal by the end of next year. I work two jobs, In n Out and Dutch Bros.
