When students applied to our program, I would always tell them how wonderful our registrar's office is, how personal. You made it so. Knowing all I needed to do was walk down the hall or send a quick email and you would respond made my life and our students' lives so much better! Your attention to detail, patience, and generous spirit found solutions to whatever the concern. Thank you so much for all you have given!! Diane, how am I going to pass by your office and see someone else at your desk? I will try to be nice to them, but I'll be thinking, "You aren't Diane!" I do hope that you'll have so much fun with your family and your garden and all the other things you now have time to do that you won't miss us (very much!) but we'll for sure miss you.

I hope you like the book I got you (and the glasses--included just for fun!) It's one of my favorites. It might be a slow start but keep reading; it gets really good and it ends with love and hope.

I haven't been able to get to know you as much because Covid has really shut down everything about 6 months into my onboarding at Lewis and Clark. Yet, I am thankful for the short and quick moments of connection.

What can I say, other than things will not be the same without you. Your presence, your person, has been a place of solace and connection for me for the past 17 years. We've really been through a lot together and I will miss you so, so much. My mornings will not be the same without seeing you in the office, but I will smile at the thought of you, and I'll never be able to look at your desk without thinking of it as "Diane's spot". Being a part of your life and having you as part of our community has been a gift. Your way with students and your commitment to LC has served us all well.
