All three individuals felt that collaboration, consultation, and co-teaching required groups of two or more individuals working towards a common goal. The most commonly used word to describe collaboration, consultation, and co-teaching was respect. Without the base of respect, all individuals felt that the three concepts would not be successful and lead to conflicts, tension, overshadowing, unwillingness to take advice, poor communication, and disagreements. Other traits that were viewed important were consideration, cooperation, equal sharing, open communication, similar teaching styles, and organization.

All individuals felt that collaboration, consultation, and co-teaching did not just benefit the teachers, but the students and parents also. Skills in all three concepts were viewed to be important not just in a school setting, but with many life situations one might be involved in. Collaboration, consultation, and co-teaching were focused on during college for the two teachers interviewed. They felt it was focused on best through group projects and during their student teaching experience. Both teachers felt confident in their collaboration and consultation skills and felt they used those skills daily. When it came to co-teaching they were not as comfortable because they currently do not co-teach in the schools they are working.
