Economic Efficiency is making the most of resources so that we do not waste anything, while Economic Security and Predictability is knowing that you will always have access to the resources that you need. These two conflict with each other in the fact that one is trying to preserve resources, while one is willingly giving them away, so there would be a conflict between these two goals.

According to one of the website I found, Canada is “mostly free”, meaning that they get to make most of their own decisions, but some of them are not made by them therefore, their Economic Freedom is still not highly ranked. It even goes on to state that one of the highest concerns in Canada is Control of Government Spending. Canada is having to focus so much on where they are spending money that they do not have time for many other concerns. Approx. 3.4 million Canadians were living in poverty in the year of 2004, which is more than 11% of the population. Connecting poverty to Economic Security, Canada spends between $72 Billion and $84 billion annually on poverty and trying to help.
