Content: A TeachMeet is an informal way of sharing ideas amongst teachers. All participants of the MOOC can apply to present and share their practices during this webinar.

Please read the following requirements before signing up to participate in the Teachmeet:

·         Participation as a speaker works on a "first come, first served" basis, so we will not accept any more applications after hitting the 10-participant mark.

·         It is COMPULSORY to attend a rehearsal before the Teachmeet. Information on the rehearsal for this Teachmeet will be available on 16 October.

·         A very good level of English is required in order to participate.

·         All speakers get a maximum of 4 minutes each.

·         The deadline to submit the presentations is 30 October 2017.

1.      Understanding the full meaning of collaborative learning, and that it requires more than simply putting students in groups

2.      Appreciating the key benefits collaborative learning can bring to students and the specific skills it helps develop

3.      Appreciating how collaborative learning can be facilitated by a flexible, interactive classroom, and also through project-based learning

4.      Creating a personal Learning Diary to log learning activities, reflections and resources from the course

5.      Reflecting in your Learning Diary on two learning activities and whether they require a low or high level of collaboration from students 

1.      Understanding how to embed collaborative learning into lesson design

2.      Appreciating the four dimensions of collaborative learning concerning group work, shared responsibility, making substantive decisions, and interdependent work

3.      Understanding how the 21st Century Learning Design Collaboration Rubric and Learning Scenarios can help you reflect and design collaborative learning activities

4.      Assessing the two collaborative learning activities you described in Module 1 using the 21 CLD Rubric, and reporting in your Learning Diary

This module looks at how to effectively assess collaborative learning. The module starts with an introductory video on the principles of assessment for improving collaborative learning, which is later followed by a video on how to assess collaborative learning using rubrics and checklists.
The CO-LAB Guidelines for Assessing Collaborative Learning (developed by Doctor Luis Valente, from the University of Minho) is the key reference document for Module 3, and will help you design the assessment aspects of your own collaborative learning lesson plan, which you will be developing through the rest of the course. It is available in the resource section of this module.

We also hear from teachers in Greece, Portugal and Italy concerning their personal experiences of assessing students’ collaborative work in relation to different aged student groups, subjects and contexts. In their videos the teachers put forward specific questions for our collaborative learning expert, related to the challenges they have faced in assessing collaborative learning. In the final video of this module we hear directly from Doctor Luis Valente, who offers some answers to our teachers’ questions.
