Thoreau left his lavish lifestyle to connect with nature unlike any of his acquaintances ever had. He not only got a better understanding of nature it changed his perspectives on our everyday lifestyle of how we live not paying attention to the beauty that nature has. At the end of his stay in his cabin Thoreau says, “I left the woods for as good a reason as I went there. Perhaps it seemed to me that I had several more lives to live, and could not spare any more time for that one.”
(377). Thoreau is showing spiritual well being by choosing to leave his with nature and life living in the cabin to go and experience more things that life has to offer. Thoreau also tells us in detail of his life living in nature by saying, “Never dreaming the while that he lives in the dark unfathomed mammoth cave of this world, and has but rudiment eye of himself.” (375). Thoreau is showing self reliance by living alone not bothered by it and knowing who he is by his experiences living by himself.

I feel like the image shows a good representation of my connect with nature and how easy it is for people to be comfortable with nature because it is apart of our everyday lives. I learned that I don’t always take advantage of nature’s beauty and all that it does for me, I get sidetracked by life and school work like Thoreau points out. Sometimes I do go out and get a good experience with nature that lasts forever.
