         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>A woman's place in the Victorian Era was at home<ul><li>Domestically and motherhood were considered "sufficient emotional fulfilment"</li><li>Women were&nbsp; kept out of society&nbsp;</li><li>They were expected to make and maintain "perfect haven" for their husbands.&nbsp;<ul><li>Water had to be fetched and boiled in large basins. This was often a difficult task for women given their wardrobe.&nbsp;</li><li>Much of their day was spent making and mending clothing.</li></ul></li></ul></li><li>In this era, <em>par excellence&nbsp; </em>(better or more than others, classy ego) was encouraged by Queen Victoria.<ul><li>Queen Victoria represented this 'femininity' through her motherhood and marriage.&nbsp;</li></ul></li><li>Women were expected to be:<ul><li>patient&nbsp;</li><li>frugal</li><li>upright</li><li>kept busy</li><li>have faith in God</li><li>punctual</li><li>not lazy, not allowed to leisure around</li><li>domestic</li><li>helpmeet</li><li>family first</li></ul></li><li>&nbsp;Fashion was their only identity<ul><li>It was constricting: this 'supported' proper posture and prevented physical activity<ul><li>corsets: often caused women to faint giving them a weak image</li><li>large skirts</li></ul></li></ul></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-More or less distinct social groups differing in terms of wealth, position of power, authority, working conditions, living conditions, education, religion, and culture.<br><em>-Upper class:</em><br><strong>Royal Class</strong> – This include people from royal family and the spiritual lords of that time.</div><div><strong>Middle Upper Class</strong> – This class include great officers of the England, the baronets along with temporal lords.</div><div><strong>Lower Upper Class</strong> – This class include country wealthy gentleman and large scale business men who had made their way with the immense wealth they possessed.<br>-<em>Middle Class:</em><br><strong>Higher Level Middle Class</strong> – These were high in terms of salaries and social status as compared to lower middle class.</div><div><strong>Lower Level Middle Class</strong> – These were the people who worked on the orders of the higher level middle class people.<em><br>-Working class:</em><br><strong>Skilled Class</strong> – They had unskilled labors working under their supervision.</div><div><strong>Unskilled Class</strong> – They were lowest category labor people.</div><div><em>Lower Class:</em><br><strong>The Poor</strong> – These were poor people and orphans who relied on the charity of others.</div><div><strong>The Prostitutes</strong> – These women were at the bottom of the society and an enormous debate took place over them during the Victorian era.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-Christianity was the dominate religion at this time and if you were not a christian then you were not allowed into heaven.&nbsp;<br>-At the beginning of the Victorian age people were extremely religious. Regularly visited the church or at least went to the chapel on Sundays.<br>-God fearing society.<br>-People began to question old religious beliefs due to the progress made in science and technology.<br>-People began to not rely on the church as much due to the improvements in technology which provided them the same comforts as religion.<br>-Technology improvements opened doors to people and this encouraged people to live their lives more comfortably by breaking away from strict religious societies.<br>-Church lost its authority and power over the people because of them questioning its ability to control them.<br>-Charles Darwin began to suggest that people were not created by God but had just evolved.&nbsp;<br>-Questioning the existence of God caused religious beliefs to become completely derailed.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
