Open and honest communication with other people helps you make healthy choices. Communication prevents misunderstanding. It gives you a way to share ideas. It even makes it easier for you to appreciate and respect others people"s opinions. At its most basic, communication is an exchange between a sender and a receiver . The sender transmits the message with a specific intent. The receiver interprets the message and responds
*nervous laughter might make a serious message sound like a joke.
*rolling your eyes might distract the listener
*making eye contact let the other person know you are serious and attentive.
*adding smiley face icons, pictures, and extra punctuation makes a note or text seem light hearted .

Do you have family photos hanging on your walls at home? Those snapshots of moments in time remind you where you've been, but they probably don't accurately represent you family as it is now. Every family changes over time, whether it's the kids growing up or the adults getting older. People leave the family, by growing up or through death or divorce. New people enter the family, through marriage, new relationships, births, and adoptions. Children become adults and move out the family home. Change happens! Although every family is different, there is a fairly consistent pattern of development for most nuclear families(that is, families that are created based on the romantic relationship of two adults).
