The industrial revolution has changed the way that we get around the world. Developments in technology have allowed us to be able to get anywhere in the world within hours. One if the way that we now travel is flying. The airline industry has helped shape the way we work, travel and live. Without the industrial revolution none of this would have been possible, the invention of the steam engine in 1698 and later the petrol engine allowed humanity to take to the skies. We now fly across the world for vacation. The airline industry has created thousands of jobs for people and has supported countless families. The jobs provided by the industry is : mechanics, for building the planes, pilots and flight attendants, and ground crews. Thousands of jobs have been made and they all work together to get you and your baggage to the location you want to travel to in the world.

Wright Flyer I, was the the first ever manned motorized airplane to be successfully flown. It was invented in 1903 by the Wright brothers. After the first successful flight the brothers continued developing their design until they gained the military's attention. Contract's with the military and rivaling companies encouraged the design of the airplane to be constantly developed and by the first world war several countries were using airplanes such as the Fokker Dr.1 to win important aerial battles. Aircraft experienced a rapid development over the next couple of years and by the end of world war 2 all of the countries participating in it had either used or developed some sort of jet powered aircraft, surprisingly similar to ones that we use today not only in military applications but also to travel around the world.
