I know it is best to change the mixed numbers to improper fractions to solve the problems asked. I also know that mixed numbers are nothing more than a whole number added to a fraction. Here are a few examples to what a said.
3 2/3 write this as a improper fraction.
3 2/3 iS 11/3. I got the because 3 times 3 is 9 plus 2 is 11. And you would keep the same denominator. Which is in this case 3.

One thing about subtracting mixed numbers is that you can't do it unless you solve it.You can also do this when you have a mixed number and only a fraction you can't subtract that so you need to bring the big number over and then you can solve it.Something about adding mixed numbers it's not that easy as you think. So you add the big numbers first then you add the fractions together and then see what you get.
