Djibouti has a very mixed culture when it comes to clothing. Unlike most Muslim countries, women do not wear veils unless they are married and are Afar. The City Dwellers were very Western-Style clothing, while Desert Dwellers wear loose clothing. Wealthy Afar women and men wear Haraytos, which are pieces of cloth slung over your shoulder. Some women in rural areas wear guntinas, which are brightly colored cloth around their torso.
