- Models help students make connections and may help to clear up misconceptions
- If students can manipulate something they may be better able to explain their thinking.
-Students can internalize learning by creating their own models and and my manipulating/interacting with existing models.
-Students need to wrestle, manipulate, modify models to make meaning
-Model needs to be the "right fit" developmentally
-Importance of being INTENTIONAL when we make decisions about the models we select

-When you are selecting the model, do you always have to explain the limitations of the model or do we have the students explore the limitations? When is it better to explain to students and when do we want them to discover them? (Analogy map) If students can explain limitations, the more they likely understand the real thing.

-The only thing that I am slightly struggling with is differentiating them. When we were selecting the content representations, I kept coming up with activities that were engaging the students – not a tool used to explain a concept. So I guess my question might be, how much involvement should the students have in the content representation?

-How often is it appropriate to use content representations and models in the classroom? How can model usage be used in lower grades, like kindergarten?

-Is there a reliable place to find accurate content representations and models? Ted Ed .gifs are good for showing processes, the wonder of science is a website that has resources that connect to standards/relevant phenomena, PhET has different models, simulations students can play around with
