During my college, I completed my two placements that helped me build confidence and practical skills which help me to becoming a meaningful educator in children's life. In my first semester, I was introduced to the basics of child development, importance of observation and their nature which I applied during my placement at Arbour Glen Day Nursery. In my first placement at Arbour Glen Day Nursery, I gained hands-on experience and professional skills by dealing with children, using teaching strategies, planning activities based on their interests and supporting their social, emotional, and cognitive growth. In my third semester while also working as a supply educator at Arbour Glen Day Nursery and completed my second placement at Northbrae YMCA Childcare, which has given me additional opportunities to interact with different age groups (3-5 Years) and educators.

For fourth semester, I chose the PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) project instead of a placement. I am currently working as a supply educator at both Arbour Glen Day Nursery and London Bridge Childcare Services.

The artifacts in the padlet shows the skills I have acquired from my first semester to my fourth semester, including importance of health and safety, documentation, creating inclusive environments, understanding child development, and building positive relationships with children and families. Each artifact highlights my growth, commitment, and readiness to enter the field of Early Childhood Education as a professional and skilled educator.

I have chosen these eight artifacts for the child development because all these assignments shows my strong understanding of child development and how children learn. Through assignments such as self-efficacy, science of babies, brain development, Piaget, Vygotsky, Attachment,case study and work task #4, all assignment showed my capacity to connect theories into practice and hands-on experience. These artifacts fit these sections as the assignment is aligned with the child development course and these artifacts also highlights the knowledge and skills that I gained from the child development course. These assignments reflects my learning, showing my belief that each child develops at their own way and speed and my role as an educator is to guide, support and create inclusive environment that encourage healthy, emotional, social, cognitive and physical growth.

I have chosen these four artifacts because they clearly represent my knowledge regarding many areas of program and curriculum development. As these assignments are from the curriculum and pedagogy course where I learned and gained lots of knowledge regarding the curriculum development. Program and curriculum development is an important topic in the early childhood education field, that every educator needs to have a clear understanding of. I believe that program and curriculum should be set up according to the children's interest which helps to promote and enhance their curiosity, engagement and creativity in the learning and overall holistic development.

I have chosen these artifacts because they clearly represent my understanding of the importance of responsive relationships and strong partnerships with children and their families. Through my placement and work at child care, I observed how warm and trusting relationships support a child's sense of belonging, security, and well-being. I learned how meaningful communication, active listening, and consistent caregiving help children feel safe and comfort in the environment. These artifacts also shows my understanding and learning about the educator's role in building strong relationships with families and children and acknowledging and respect their feelings. I believe that as an educator I will build the strong relationship and connections with the child and their families by ensuring their safety and well-being.

I have chosen these four artifacts because they clearly shows my understanding of health regulations, safety, and best practices in early childhood settings. My First Aid and CPR certificate demonstrated my knowledge of emergency procedures and my ability to respond safely and confidently in situations that require immediate action. The field trip assignment highlights my learning about risk assessment, supervision, and planning safe, developmentally appropriate experiences for children outside the classroom. A WHMIS certificate helps me to safely handle, store and understand hazardous materials to protect children and staff in the workplace. Together these artifacts shows my understanding to create safe environments and following all health and safety guidelines. As an educator, I believe it is my responsibility to protect children's well-being, maintain safe practices at all times, and ensure that every child is safe and secure.

I have chosen these artifacts because they demonstrate my growing ability to advocate for children, families, and the early childhood profession. Through the family interview assignment, I learned and understand the importance of listening to families concerns, perspectives, understanding their cultural backgrounds, and recognizing the strengths of their child's which help me to build strong connection with the child. The case study assignment allowed me to analyze a child's and family needs, supporting them by providing resources that promote child's overall development and well-being. All these artifacts shows my learning and understanding the importance of fulfilling children's needs, building strong relationships with families, and promoting high-quality practices within the field of early childhood education. From my elected group assignment, I learned how to write the letter to the representative of the community and how to address the current issues related to the ece field to the peoples who are in higher positions. As an educator, I believe my role is to ensuring that every child and family feels supported, respected and welcomed.

Reflection:

I have chosen these five artifacts because they reflect my understanding to ongoing situation, learning, research and professional growth as an early childhood educator. Through my Loris Malaguzzi group presentation, I gained lots of knowledge about the Reggio Emilia Approach which increase my understanding of the image of the child, the role of the environment, and the importance of collaboration in learning. My Op-Ed assignment allowed me to research about the ongoing situation in the early childhood education field and to express my own professional opinions on current issues in the field. Through my technology research paper assignment , I learned the importance of technology use in children's personal, social and academic lives. Through the reimagining education assignment, I learned that I should be fair with every child in the classroom by feeling them heard and included. All these artifacts shows my capacity to develop new ideas, think critically, and apply research into practice. As an educator, I believe continuous learning is essential for providing high-quality education and staying connected to the every needs of the children, families and the profession.
