SEL and trauma informed care cannot work with students if the adults are struggling. There is a district EAP that is a third party--not enough capacity and as Toni mentioned, doesn't build community (school team). These schools have students with compounded traumas-both before the pandemic and as a result of the pandemic. It is all-hands-on deck all the time. You cannot train professionals into having more time. There's so much support directed towards training and coaching staff-based on the presumption that there is a lack of skill, but in truth it's a lack of time.
