My name is Daphne van de Water and I am 20 years old. I live in Dussen, a small village nearby Oosterhout. However, in March I will move to Etten-leur. The reason for this is because my internship is located in this village. At this moment, I am an intern at El Campus. El Campus is an office building, which rents office spaces for small/start-up companies. During this internship, I developed and implemented a new concept on the fourth floor. I live in Den Bosch, with my partner Wim and our 4 month old puppy Nala.

I have quite some experience in research, having worked as a scientific researcher at the University of Amsterdam and then as a lecturer in research and graduate coach at Fontys in Eindhoven, before I started as a lecturer and graduate coach at the NHTV.

I know both first- and second hand what fun, but also struggles come with writing your thesis, but more important, the feeling of pride and accomplishment when getting your degree. 

Although this course has a strong emphasis on independency and, in all cases, you will be asked to help each other out first, I am determined to guide this process in a way that helps and motivate you during every step of the way.

For my professional product I researched the processes within the facility department and came up with solutions how to create a more efficient process.

Now I am back in school and motivated, I will start writing my bachelor thesis and follow up with the personalization part. 

I will write my thesis about the disappearance of the personal touch in the hospitality industry. Nowadays many restaurants and hotels choose to replace people by iPads (to order, check-in) for example. I believe the hospitality industry is created by people and can not be replaced by systems, therefore I am going to research their importance and consequences within/for the branche.
