Pg. 150-152

My favorite quote of the passage was "free, free, free!" by Mrs. Mallard. (151) It could imply 2 different things: Mrs. Mallard would have freedom from her husband or he was free from the earth. When I read this quote, I think about a bald eagle soaring through the air.

Pg. 1005-1014

This was my first piece of drama to read and might I say I loved it. After reading the responses of my classmates, I recognized how symbolic the yellow canary really was and it gave me a different outlook on symbolism. Sometimes it is the simple things in life that mean so much to us.

Pg. 363-372

This story was interesting. It was about a woman that lived in a depressed, schizophrenic, lonesome world, in a bedroom, in an abandoned mansion. The room was filled with yellow wallpaper symbolizing a woman being trapped in the designs crying for help. The woman finally freed herself from the misery by ripping the wallpaper off the walls.

Pg. 1345-1393

I did not care to much for this drama. I thought the play was

too lengthy. The third act was my favorite part where Nora confesses

to Mr. Helmer about the finances. Nora realizes that living in a Doll House

is not what it is cracked up to be and she would rather live a more simpler life.

I am thankful our freedom is fought for everyday by our men and women in foreign countries. As we function in our everyday busy lives, we often take freedom for granite and freedom is not free.

Pg. 927

The author describes his soul as grown deep like the rivers which colors a pretty mental image. The image that comes to mind is a river that stretches for miles upon miles, deep flowing with crystal blue water. The soul is deep as one will let it be and flows at the pace that each human will allow it.
