Both corruption then and now have had to do with giving jobs to less-qualified people, because of the Spoils System. Bribes have also been given to workers to vote for political figures. Not only that, but money has also been a big part of corruption in the United States. Now, it has to do with poor people unable to make more money, and then it had to do with big corporations ruling an entire industry, so nobody else could make money.

Reformers were commonly senators or representatives who were able to create bills and acts against political corruption in the U.S. Being in power helped them make a difference in the world and change corruption. They help fight for a common goal, to end corruption. Many people wish for changes, but the reformers who helped make a difference rose to power so they could make a change. They were all very similar in the way they fought for what they believed in and wanted to make a change.

Acts and bills were made to change corruption, usually changing systems that made poor people poorer and rich people richer. They usually help by removing certain systems such as the Spoils System as well. Although the acts and bills made back then have not limited problems now, changes are still being made to how we run the economy and the United States. As time passes new problems are made, but so are new solutions.
