In the 1930's and 1950's, we saw hundreds of thousands of Mexicans be removed "voluntarily" from the U.S. following the events of Operation Wetback (Hernandez 2010).  Between 2009 and 2016, we witnessed an astounding 5 million immigrants be deported under Obama's 8 year presidency, which is smaller number compared to deportations under Bush and Clinton's presidency. The Department of Homeland Security ensured that the aliens being targeted were only aliens with a criminal background and those who recently immigrated, yet it has been proven again and again that this isn't true in the slightest. And now, shortly following the 2016 election, a new Executive Order to "Enhance Public Safety in the Interior of The United States" has been pushed forward, bringing the President's real motives to legalized light. Under this new order, "Many aliens who illegally enter the United States and those who overstay or otherwise violate the terms of their visas present a significant threat to national security and public safety" (Executive Order: Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States, whitehouse.gov). No immigrant is safe. As the number of "removals" since 2017 exceed six hundred thousand and continue to grow, what will America represent? A conversation addressing both sides of the issue is had between two agents while they stand at the door of the target they're trying to reach. The color palette is picked to resemble the color scheme of a temperature map, having the blue colors represent cold, and the violet colors represent hot. The Logo on the back of the Agent's vest is not only a direct reference to the anagram I.C.E., but also a metaphor to the way they go about enforcing orders. And the M.A.G.A. patch on the agent's jacket replaces what was once a flag of the United States.
