I am from Fort Smith, Arkansas. I am an only child, but my house was always filled with animals! They are just as crazy as siblings! I had many pets over the years; dogs, cats, chickens, or any wild rescue animals. I was involved in many activities growing up: all types of sports (volleyball, track, swimming, etc.), music (piano and flute), and baton twirling. Baton Twirling was a BIG one for me! I had twirled since I was in 1st grade! I was inspired by the girls at the highschool and was fortunate enough to have my parents help me accomplish my dreams! I wanted to be a Razorback Twirler! But it didn’t stop there! I was lucky enough to compete for Team USA at the World Championship in Liverpool, UK! We brought home the silver medal!

I am a student at the University of Arkansas, majoring in Elementary Education. While I am a student during the week, on weekends I am a Razorback Twirler! Go Hogs! I love being part of the Razorback Marching Band performing in a stadium of 70,000 of the BEST SEC FANS! I am also a member of the sorority who’s founding chapter was here at the University! I’m a Chi Omega! Through my sorority, I have found some of my closest friends and roommates! My favorite part of college is my professors. They are the ones that encourage me to do my best and follow my passion of being a teacher. They inspire me to continue learning and improving every day; hopefully, helping to mold me into an inspiring teacher as they are for my future students!

Growing up, I had always wanted to be a Geologist! (I was a big rock nerd! So I included a picture of my favorite: A Smokey Quartz!) I had teachers that always encouraged me to go into education, but I wanted to do something big and impactful! However, it wasn’t until my senior year of high school when I worked at the Fort Smith Boys and Girls Club that I realized my passion. I helped a young girl who was in 1st grade with her homework everyday. On my last day of work before the summer, she gave me a drawing of me and her. She then gave me a big hug and told me she didn’t want me to go. I cried! I realized then how much of an impact we can leave on students and that this was bigger than any other job. All through my life, I had loved teaching baton twirling, piano, rocks, and even math! I was subconsciously teaching others! This is when I realized this was my true passion.
