Tip: I tell my scholars that if they have been in a step longer than 5 minutes, it is ok to raise their hand and remind me that they have been on steps for 5 minutes respectfully, if I get busy teaching and “forget.”

Use steps the first day we introduce it. It will set the tone for you being the instructor and in control of the learning environment. Not making eye contact and keeping a neutral tone is CRUCIAL to keeping it non personal. It builds trust among all your students that you will keep the classroom safe for them to learn and grow!
