  Use an iPad to take photos of the different classrooms and spaces. Discuss (using Google translate) if they remember what happens in each room/class. Go through names of teachers. Print the pictures if you'd like and stick them into a book. Label with words in English and preferred language that relate to that room.

  
  

• The next day, use Widgit to generate images that relate to different parts of the school day and routine, teacher's names, etc and sort them according to the different subjects. Use this to start to build sentences or generate English vocabulary relating to routines and the school day.

Use this printed document for a variety of activities.

-Have a dedicated iPad for student.

-Encourage and support student to allow full access. We don't want them to expect that they have to ask for iPad, minimise barriers to access.

-Download the Google Translate app (from the school's 'App Store'). Better than the pre-downloaded translator app as it allows photo translations, text to speech etc.
