         <description><![CDATA[<div>There was a political struggle for control over the CCP between those who unquestioningly followed the lead of the Comintern and those who wanted to establish a more independent Chinese Communist Party.<br><br>There was an ideological struggle which was closely    linked to the political struggle, between those who believed that orthodox Marxism should be followed slavishly by all Communists, and those who believed that this theory should be adapted to Chinese circumstances.</div>]]></description>
