         <description><![CDATA[<p>Hurricane Katrina was a devastating category 5 hurricane that struck the gulf coast and it happened August 23, 2005 to August 31, 2005. It formed over the Bahamas and rapidly intensified as it had winds over 145mph and as it moved toward the Gulf of Mexico. The storm caused widespread destruction particularly in New Orleans Louisiana due to flooding when the city's levee system failed</p>]]></description>

A lot of people died because a estimated 44% of people that were supposed to evacuate didn't because they didn't want to leave there pets behind. Many people were left homeless and no one had power for a week or more.  </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Katrina left oil spills, storm debris, dam aged sewage and water treatment systems, abandoned housing, and widespread mold, and a lot of flooding damage to houses and buildings. This was a major health concern with the the mold and doctors warned people about raspatory sickness.   </p>]]></description>

This is also Ranked as the deadliest storm since 1950 Katrina is tied with Hurricane Harvey as the costliest Atlantic hurricane on record. Many people had help from others after hearing about the hurricane, a company called world vision was delivering relief supplies, cash grants, and materials totaling $15.6 million they also were supporting churches and organizations.</p>]]></description>

It was also a category 5 hurricane but it did not do as much damage as Katrina cause there was severely less flooding. Despite both storms having similar intensities, Katrina had a far more devastating impact, especially in terms of loss of life and infrastructure damage.</p>]]></description>
