1. Integrated learning is about understanding how to engage in the assimilation of two or more subjects in a lesson or unit to teach the students and for the students to gain an understanding of those integrated topics or subjects.

2. The combination of using two or more subjects is about knowing how to learn, plan and teach the unit, resource or plan. A lesson can be delivered on the topic about family life in the late 1800's, the first lesson can be for the class to read the novel, 'Little Women'. The follow up lesson will be watching the movie and then having a class discussion comparing the book to the movie.

Integrated studies are unit/subjects that incorporate other learning areas. For example mathematics can also be used to understand how under developed countries manage their household expenses with a very small amount of capital. Literacy is also used in music. Integrated studies help to give meaning across subject areas, helping students to utilise their knowledge within their community.

How intense would the unit be, would the teacher be able to go into great depth?

Would it take the place of History and Geography, instead of calling it History would it be called Integrated Studies/Inquiry?
