The Great Sphinx of Giza was crafted very early into society at 2465 BC. It is believed today that the Great Sphinx of Giza was built by Khafre's brother Redjedef to commemorate their father Khufu who's pyramid, The Great Pyramid is built directly behind the Great Sphinx of Giza. In 2018 the Sphinx is in rough condition as the face has washed away from erosion unfortunately. Sphinxes appeared in both Greek mythology an Egyptian mythology as the two cultures were similar in mythology. The role the Sphinx had in Greek mythology included guarding the city of Thebes and asking travellers riddles. This shows that franchises are inspired by the mythical creature and have chosen to include the mythical creature into their franchise. The cards in the franchise Yu-Gi-Oh are very powerful and are respected by the characters in the anime.
