I can feel the presence of someone who is longing for their loved one to be there with them.  I can imagine the scent of something sweet, yet bitter, and the imagery of someone full of sorrow. Death is mentioned which causes the feeling of a cold and lonely atmosphere.

I think what it is saying is that when both you and your neighbor knows how to respect each other and their property makes them good neighbors.


What does "old stone savage" stand for in the poem "Mending Wall"? 

What i believe he means by ¨ old stone savage ¨ is that the neighbor that he lives nearby with is an old fashioned style guy. As if his neighbor was still in his primitive days.
