Like the other technologies, there exists as well catastrophic consequences and ethical issues accompanying these technologies. However we must realise that these have accompanied every major advancement over the course of our history. Some examples would be the Manhattan Project and the invention of the cotton gin. Personally, none of the groups have convinced me on how nanotechnology can really harm the human race. The argument centralisés around nanoparticles. Whether that can be considered nanotech is debatable, and furthermore nanoparticles have been around since the industrial revolution as the government team has pointed out.
