The foundation for the Monument was laid out on January 2, 1902. In May 1906 the sides of the monument collapsed. Visitors are allowed to enter the monument for free but if you want to go to the top you must get a permit and have your ID. Groups of no more than 6 are allowed to enter and you only have 15 minutes to spend at the top.

Every night before Independence Day the President of Mexico rings the bell of the National Palace in Mexico City and shouts out the names of the important heroes that were in the Mexican War of Independence and then shouts out"Viva Mexico".

Ingredients: Beef Tripe, Broth, and Chili Peppers
Steps: 1. Boil the Beef Tripe for 2 hours
2. Remove the Tripe from the pot and cut it into stripes or cubes
3. Boil the Hominy in the same soup you cooked the Tripe
4. Boil Hominy about halfway
5. Blend dry chilies in water and salt
6. Take the chili sauce and add to the Tripe And Hominy.
7. Put on medium heat and let soup simmer for about an hour or your desired Hominy taste.

Mexico ranks first in salt production. Mexico is the largest source of immigration to the U.S. Mexico is the 10th largest oil producer in the world. The largest wildcat in North America is the Jaguar, and can be found in Mexico's southern jungles. Actor Anthony Quinn was the first Mexican to win an Academy Award. During the Christmas season kids receive there gifts on January 6th instead of on Christmas Day. The final thing that I have learned is the my Great Great Grandfather help build the church and the gateway into my Grandfathers hometown
