I am Brooklyn Hunt. I am from Salt Lake City, Utah and I am in the middle of my second year teaching 9th grade math at a Title 1 high school in a neighboring city. I say "9th grade math" because my state has adopted the Integrated Common Core Standards which means I teach a little bit of everything each year. The primary focus is on algebra skills (some from Algebra 1, some from Algebra 2) but statistics and geometry are also included in our content for the year. I am the lead of our Freshman Academy, which is our schools committee of freshman teachers. Entering this program as a nearly brand new teacher has been intimidating but helpful. I am excited to learn more about how I can better teach geometry and measurement.
