However, her calm lifestyle came to an abrupt end when her father passed away in 1745.

Consequently, she returned back home to live with her grieving mother . Land was poor, due to the armies of Oliver Cromwell, who caused major devastation in the 17th century, creating future difficulty to growing crops. Citizens lived off mainly potatoes and buttermilk, which were more often than not poorly harvested and not enough to fully feed the family. Catholics of the time had next to no rights, with no right to vote, own land or educate their children. For many citizens their was no way of maintaining basic hygiene.

The Sheep and the Goats, is a parable story used for teaching people about selflessness and selfishness. The sheep are described as good listeners who understand the messages of God and understand how much they need him as a part of their life, they listen to his calls through others and always assist those in need. Whereas the goats are described very stubborn, ignoring the advice of others and do not understand how much that they need God, they ignore and oversee the gods call's for help. Those classified as goats, are sentenced to eternal suffering, for their ignorance and selfishness.

The parable was written to teach us that we can be a sheep or a goat and we have the opportunity to be either of them. It tells how God sees everything that we do and Gold is in everyone that we help.

I think that this parable can relate to my reformer because she was always willing to help others, even if it was going against the laws others set. She wanted to help everyone and give everyone a second chance at a good life. She made sure that everyone had food, shelter, water and even an education.

The Good Samaritan is a parable story of an average civilian man, who was mugged and left to die on the side of the road. Three people of different social classes, religions and social standards all past the man.

The first was a priest, he saw the man, but rather than assisting him, he crossed the road and continued on his way. Why would a man of his social standing do such a thing? Was it to maintain a high level of hygiene? Or because the struggling man was not of any social importance?

The second was a priest assistant, he like the priest, simply slowed downed as he walked past, but did not help. Did he have the same intentions of the priest?

The final man was a Samaritan. Samaritans were unliked by the Jews. The man struggling for his life, was indeed a Jew. Despite the social differences the Samaritan continued to help the poorly man. onto the back of his donkey and to the nearest inn. Here he entrusted the inn keeper with 2 gold coins, and instructed him to look after the sick man, promising that any extra cost's would be compensated for in the future.

The parable of the Good Samaritan much relates to today's society. In the sense that people can obviously see that there are others who need their assistance, however they chose to ignore, but there are a few people in this who will give everything that they and more to give one person a chance at a better life, like Nano Nagle.
