I had to learn all the administrative work as well as teach and lead a class. I had no official support but I had good experienced coworkers that helped me. There was no question about my well-being but I managed to make is tolerable and in time it was great. It would have been easier if I had structured official support. that's for sure.

It was very hard for my to understand why it is necesary to have so many documents and the activity with my students was not very important for school. My headteacher was a veritabile and emotional support for me.

Today the young teachers are more lucky, because we, the colegues are the unnemed mentors, but assumed!

I started out as an English teacher in Japan, and I always instructed with another teacher in the room. I had the fortunate experience of observing many different teaching styles over the course of the years, at many different educational stages. By the time I transitioned to a full teacher, and had to learn about all of the additional documentation required, I felt prepared. I would love to provide other ECTs with the opportunities to learn from their peers.

It was very difficult to find one. Unfortunately, at that time a new person was looked at a bit like someone who takes away something valuable from you. Now in many places in Poland there is a shortage of teachers, which, unfortunately, creates situations where people who do not feel the job are accepted.
