What is happening in the story is Jonas is saying that they don't need to care about anything because Jonas thought that that eh and giver could leave the community without caring about anybody
What it means is that Jonas thinks that he could leave the community with the giver and just go without him caring about anybody in the community. Also what it tell us about the characters is that he would not care about anything the conflict is that the is leaving soon I think and theme is that you are free to do what ever you want.
What this quote means is that Jonas is being selfish because he is not caring about anybody when he is going to else where with the giver. Also this idea  in the world is good I guess because  you cant handle something You just have to get out of there

This quote made me feel like that saying this person matters more than him or my family and that is not true. I think that their town is very messed up in many different ways. What does this quote mean to me? It makes me feel as if they should not care about anyone eals.

This happened at the end of chapter 19. The old man called The Giver said it himself and it was after they watched the baby be killed.
If i put this in other words it would be that no one else matters really besides them the giver and Jonas.
I feel that the author was trying to set the mood after something sad happened be say we matter and no one eles does.
I think this quote could help lead to that Jonas was meant to be more than what he was chosen as. That quote is what made me think this way.

It was the meaning of everything.¨ In other words Jonas confessed that he only cared about him and the giver and the giver soon realized that and helped Jonas understand that its not just him and the giver, it was the whole community that mattered.The author is trying to help us understand that we need to care for other people that cared for us  and love them and appreciate them, This quote had a significant impact on my thinking because it explains how we need to help and care for others because there are people in this earth who have helped and cared for others but they don't get the same love that they give, A connection i can make to this is school, there are some people that use there time to help others and they don't get it back, which they should, kind of like a boomerang, if you show you care for someone they should care for you too.
