They are similar because they both look different and at the end they both find a happy place to go and it’s a happy ending. They are different because  Cicada is treated like a little bug and the Lost Thing is just ignored and nobody looks at him apart from the little boy. After  watching the Lost thing, I felt kind of sad because it was left out. I also think that you cant leave someone out.

I think the creatures in the books symbolise how everyone is different and they should not be ignored or rejected. 
 I think it’s different than Eric because people take him and if Eric  wants to do his own thing they
just let him do his own thing.

Sophia- I think this because the Lost Thing is just ignored by everyone! Until this one boy finds him. Cicada gets abused, bullied and hurt by all of his peers \  surroundings. Eric is closer to the Lost Thing because Eric is kind of  ignored but his  acquaintances still look after him a bit! 
Freddie-I think all of the stories that Sophia said are related because the all break to freedom at the end of each book.Like a  Paradise.They are all different in a good way to us, but not to the people in the stories. 
Whitney-I think that all of the stories that Sophia N mentioned. The stories all have a little secret at the end but you don’t guess it because in nearly ALL of the Shaun Tan books you can’t exactly know what is happening so everyone will have their opinions.
