 Helping refugees is an inevitable humane action we need to move forward as a global community. It is no longer the age of separate nations; the 21st century is the age of globalization. And thus it is so that with the rapid disappearance of borders comes a sense of unity, and an acceptance of other ethnicities, not simply as "people from other countries" but rather as equal human beings with the freedom to live everywhere and anywhere. 
 And for the second argument, though it does feel selfish to put this into words, helping refugees can contribute to the wellbeing of our nation. Regardless of globalization, though individual boundaries have swelled and expanded, nations still exist as independent functions.
