3/8/2128

Hey me. Today was crazy! I have never EVER experienced a day like this. How can this be? Why me?! This is terrifying, how did this happen? Okay okay so here is how the day went; I woke up and got ready for school like every other day. About halfway through the day, I got pulled into the principal's office. What the heck! I’m the schools goody-tissues, the nerd, Momma’s Boy, I never get it trouble for anything ever. When I got pulled into the office, my principal, Mr. Lardman, said “Coleman, your in big trouble.” I thought to myself, ‘Shoot, what did I get accused for doing?!’ Mr. Lardmen looked sharply around the office, then closed the door quickly and quietly. He stared me in the eye for a straight 2 minutes, trying to find the words to tell me about my soon-to-be known situation. “Son, they are after you. Run, hide, save yourself.” With a scared, wimpy voice I said, “Um, what do you mean… Who? Where? What? I’m I’m I’m wha-“ “You can’t tell anyone,” Mr. Lardman said cutting me off, “not your family, friends, teacher, not one soul.” He then said those few words that forever changed my world.

3/9/2128

Hey me, so I totally forgot to tell you what Principal Lardman told me. I was too caught up in the shock. Now, you can’t tell anyone what I am about to tell you, okay? If you tell one soul, I may bite the dust if you know what I mean. So apparently the people after me is some secret evil service that almost NO ONE knows about. Why me you may ask? Because my dad is the President of the United States of America, and they are out to get most families and government workers. I don’t know how in the world Mr. Lardman found this out, why the secret evil service is a thing, or why they are out to get the government and families. All I know is that none of this makes sense, and that I have to learn how to become a superhero is less than 3 days so that I can stop there plan against the government. WHAT IN THE WORLD?! How am I supposed to do this? The hardest thing I have ever done is study for the World Wide Spelling Bee, which I won. But this? This is not my cup of tea. Where do I begin? Oh wait… Mr. Lardman just sent me an article on becoming a superhero. Okay whoa whoa whoa, he wants me to follow this? This is off Wikipedia, and I was taught to never use Wiki for anything ever. Well my time is ticking, I’ll give you an update tomorrow. Bye Me.

3/10/2128

Hey me. So I stayed up all night studying this article, and it seems pretty accurate. Wow, did I really just say that Wikipedia was accurate? Gosh, this superhero stuff is really changing me. Anyways, the first step is to, ‘Choose my superhero name.’ The article said to make it your own and something catchy. Well, I wanna use my name so let’s make it Ultra Cole! Then, my super power can be that I can transport anywhere, anytime. This is so exciting! Next step is my outfit, outfit? The article says for inspiration I can use my favorite colors. Oh, dark blue and yellow! The third step is your logo, gosh there are 13 steps? This is gonna take forever, okay focus Coleman. My logo, something with wind since I can travel anywhere. Then lighting since I am lighting fast. How about a cloud with wind and lightning coming out of it! Aw this is great, I’m gonna be the best superhero there ever is or was! So far, my name is Ultra Cole and I can travel anywhere at anytime. My outfit is dark blue and yellow with no cape! Gosh I hate capes, they are so annoying. I used to play pretend superheroes and I always tied a blanket around my neck haha! Back to what I was saying, then in the middle of my outfit I have my logo. Okay me, I’m gonna go so I can finish this article and steps. My next page in my diary will be my final superhero! Bye me.

3/11/2128

Hey me. Okay this superhero thing is the most fun I have ever done in years! The most fun thing I have ever done in my lifetime was go to Arizona when I was 6 to study the Grand Canyon. Haha, that shows how much of a nerd I am. After the school here’s about me, The Coleman, being chosen for a superhero! No one will make fun of me or call me a goody tissues. Aw shoot, that’s right. Stupid Principal Lardman said, “Don’t tell a soul or you will die!” Blah blah, whatever. So here is my superhero; Ultra Coleman! The boy who can travel anywhere at anytime. I wear dark blue and yellow with my amazing logo on my chest. I have built in armor on my clothes, and a gadget on my wrist. It’s an invisibility button. So when I press the button, I become invisible like wind! My liar is my closet, not to exciting but I have no where else to go. Hopefully, no one will find me there or my mom. She always folds my laundry and puts it away for me, so I’ll hide my outfit somewhere else. Oh, maybe that’s why people call me Momma’s Boy. I will also be super clandestinely, since I have to keep my identity a secret. Plus the nice thing about my superpower is that I don’t need a transportation, since I can travel anywhere faster than the speed of light. I will also only follow and listen to whatever Mr. Lardman says, he’s like my boss. Ah finally, I finished the 13 steps! My hand hurts so bad owwww. I can relax now, get some rest for my big day of fighting. Your kidding me, Principal Lardman wants me to come to school for some training? On a Saturday? Wow, if I don’t come I get Saturday School for… a whole year?! Fine, by right back to go see what he wants. Bye me.

3/12/2128

Yo yo yo me! So I just got back from my boy, Mr. Lardman. Well not exactly, he wasn’t there. Like boy. Anyways, he left a little potion bottle on his desk in his office. The potion is like a neon green, kinda a weird color. On the bottle, it has this note on it that says, “Drink this to let your superhero powers come true. Chug it then say, ‘su su su!’ Then, let it soak in and your superhero powers begin!” So I did exactly what it told me to, and here I am. It hasn’t kicked in yet, but one of the side-effects is ‘Personality disorder.’ All that happens is you don’t really act yourself, yeah know? Whoa, guys, I literally, literally just changed into my outfit. It… looks… SICK! It feels so dope, I freaking love this. I wish I was always a superhero. Ah bro, I just got an email from my boy, Mr. Lardman! He said, “They are coming, go! Get ready!” This is my chance, my chance to shine! I have my whole outfit on, my gadgets all in place, I’m in my awesome lair, I’m ready, bro. Okay me, this is it. I’m never gonna be the same. I love you, me. Your the best, see you on the news. Bye, Ultra Coleman.

Run Away

When I was in elementary school, I packed my suitcase and told my mother I was going to run away. I was in 3rd grade to be exact, and furious because my new baby brother was taking all the attention away from me. He messed up my whole life I felt like, so I packed my neon pink, sparkly suitcase and went on my way. As I began to walk out into the real world, I said to my mother, “Mom, I’m running away, I’m never coming back!” She looked at me while holding my baby brother and said, “Okay sweetheart, I love you and I’m always here for you.” My mother’s tone when she said that was suspicious, as if she knew I was going to come back. After I slammed the front door shut to our yellow, southern house, I walked. I didn’t exactly know where I was going, since we had just moved from Texas to Tennessee, but I knew I needed to go far away. Now it’s present day, and I’m a 21 year old, high school dropout who is broker than broke. My mother hasn’t seen me ever since I walked out of that house. I’m in a tight situation, which I will get into later, but it’s the whole reason why I’m standing outside the same yellow, southern house. I knock on the door, and wait for the door to creak open. I wonder, if someone would ever open the door. The door opens, my mother looks at me, with tears strolling down her face. “I told you you come back,” she said with a quivering voice. “Where’s baby brother?” I said. All she did was sigh.

Dead Fruit Trees

All around us, dead fruit trees rose like ghostly hands. I looked around, to see what was making this happen or if it was our minds siking us out. Sadly, it wasn’t my imagination. The forest, cavernous and dark, was mysterious and I didn’t know what to do, so I ran. I ran quickly, as fast as my legs would take me. I didn’t look back, for I was scared that the fruit trees kill us, or trap us there forever. They were chasing me and getting closer to me by the second. I could feel the trees getting closer, I thought this was the end. Suddenly, my legs were too tired and they gave out right from under me. I tightly closed my bright blue eyes shut, and found myself laying in bed with piles of homework around me.

Colorful pillows scattered around the room, blankets unfolded, clothes from socks to sweatshirts on the floor, uniforms thrown anywhere after a long day of school, Lululemon bags leftover from shopping, worn and sweaty dance clothes sitting on the ground, my backpack and school supplies open and a mess, bed sheets wrinkled from the night before, perfume thrown on the floor from rushing this morning, dust bunnies in the corners. And all won't be picked up till next week.

At age 9, my parents separated for a year but did not get a divorce. It had been the first year in my life that everything was peaceful. Everything was calm;

the calm before the storm.

Then at age 10, my parents finally decided to get a divorce. I had mixed emotions about them getting a divorce, I was happy but terrified. I was happy because my family would be safe and there would be less stress on my mom. On the other hand, I was terrified because of financials and what others would think. My mom always told me to not care what others think and that God will provide. I thought to myself, how could God care and/or provide if He put me through this? Throughout those first years they got divorced, my father would send threats and hate towards us because he was so angry. I would cry myself every night to sleep wondering what would come the next day, or if I should believe the things he was saying. Again I thought, how could God care and/or provide if He put me through this? 3 years later, my mom met her love and they got engaged. I was extremely thankful and finally realized why God had put me through this. Then 10 days before the wedding, they called it off. Once again I thought, why me? How could God care and/or provide if He put me through this? I was hurt deeply and felt like I couldn’t trust God, like I had just lost a lifetime best friend.

Now present day, I have the best life I could ever ask for. No stress, my family is closer than ever, and it's fun filled everyday. This is why I believe that God will always care and provide no matter what.

I never actually listened to what my mom said to me, what feels like every second of every hour of every day of every year. Now as I look back on the past, I see clearly what she means. God will always be there for you no matter how big or how small the problem is. He cares for us so immensely, that He cares about the little things we worry or care about no matter how small. One of the reasons I didn’t believe what my mom said was because if He put all this bad stuff in my life, why wasn’t He fixing it? I would get so angry at God, seeing my mom hurting and my family falling apart and Him ‘not doing anything’ to fix it. I even wanted to stop attending church because I thought, ‘What’s the point of worshipping someone if He couldn’t care less about me?’ But my Godly mother told me to be patient and have faith, faith, and more faith.

As the years went on and I matured more, I began to have more faith and slowly put more trust in God. Now, I have never been so close to Him and couldn’t be happier. My mom tells me constantly, ‘I told you so!’ And sadly, she couldn’t be more right. I believe many things, some positive things and some negative, some truth and some lies. But I will never stop believing one thing; God will always care and provide no matter what. This is what I believe.
