         <title>SIEP 2 ( 2 SEPT 2018- 1 SEPT 2018)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>DAY 1<br> Today was my first day of working in clinic Partheeban. i went in the clinic with a great hope of learning new things and to gain a new knowledge about what is actually happening in that clinic. Doctor Partheeban ask me to have a look on the clinic situation and the arrangements of the medicines in the dispensary and in the store. he told me that i will be just doing my practical for 4 hours everyday<br>(9am-1pm) and there will be a homework for me at each end of the day(10 days of practical).<br>around 10.35am there is a patient named Rajamah came for dressings. She was diabetic patient for passed 28 years. Now her age is 64. i followed one of the senior there to see and experiance the phenomena of what is happening in the emergency ward. Her wound was severe where the fat, tissues and tendon of the feet could be seen very clearly. the process of dressing begins with cleaning the wound with eusol(iodine for diabetic patient) followed by scratching the wound, and place a vaseline net and put povidon(medicine) on top of it. Finally, her wound was covered with bandage and she was injected by doctor to fasten the healing process. doctor called me back to his room and asked about my opinion about the wound, i give my review on what i felt during the dressing process. i, myself felt that food plays major importance to have a healthy body. the food that we consume is what we become. he smiled and agree and added that lifestyle of a person plays important as well. Next patient was, a two month old baby. he caught with heavy flu and fever for past two days. he was given a gas to open up his nostrils. Around 12 pm, there is a patient with accident (minor accident) came for check up and dressings. the accident happens while he is going to his working place. he had bleeding's in arm and foot. the dressing process repeated but with different kind of hibitine (iodine for non diabetic patient). before going back home the doctor gave me homework and ask me to find out about "definition of health by world Health  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today is my second day Of doing Siep. I was given a task to bottle up the liquid form medicine in different order such as 30ml, 60ml and 90ml. Secondly, the senior thought me how to mixed up the antibiotics. the scientific name of those medicines are clamovid which is added up with simplex (sugary water). Antibiotics are powerful medicines that fight certain infections and can save lives when used properly. They either stop bacteria from reproducing or destroy them.<br>Before bacteria can multiply and cause symptoms, the immune system can typically kill them. Antibiotic is important to fight against diseases. It will boost up the immune system in human body.<br><br></div><div>Next,there is a patient who had bad hand pain for past 4 days (swollen fingers). she claimed that she had a sleepless night and the pain was unbearable. the doctor open up her skin slightly and cleaned the pus inside the finger. Then he stitched back her finger and do dressings to her. Then,the senior did dressing while i have a look on it, the procedures that need to be done for treating the patient.&nbsp;<br>before going back home, the doctor asked me about yesterday,s homework and i explained what i understand about health and he was satisfied with my answer and gave me back another home work about chicken pox.<br> " As defined by World Health Organization (WHO), it is a "state of complete physical,mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the morning, there is many patient waiting for dressings. One of the interesting case, Which is a man with above knee Abutation (AKA). He in involve in accident and diabetic. he is suffering from diabetic from more than 5 years. his pancrease is weak to produce insulin. his glucose level is high in the blood which is 30.9!&nbsp;<br><br>The doctor called me and asked about chicken pox. chicken pox is an infectious diese,causing a mild fever and a rash of itchy, inflamed pimples which turn to blisters and then loose scabs. it is caused by the herpes/varicella zoster virus and mainly affects children.<br>The sympotms are a feeling of being unwell, aching muscles, loss of appetite and feeling of nausea. The prevention are vaccine for varicella. For children 2 doses of varicella vaccine are given one at 12-15 months and one at age 4 to 6 years. 90% chances to prevent chicken pox.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Today i learned some medical terms that been used in clinic such as BD,TDS,OM,ON,EOD,QID and OD.<br>BD- latin words means take medicine twice a day<br>TDS- take medicine three times per day<br>OM- took medicine on the morning<br>ON-  took medicine on night<br>EOD- took medicine two days ones.<br>QID- took medicine 4 times per day<br>OD- took medicine daily.<br><br>There is also a term for doctor substitution which sound as LOCUM<br>LOCUM means a doctor who substitute another doctor when there is emergency or other valid reasons.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There is few patients come up for dressings and clear up their wounds. Most of them are those with diabetic. I helped my senior colleagues to perform dressings to the patient.&nbsp;<br>The doctor asked about herpes simplex virus. There is actually two types of herpes simplex disease. Type 1 is also known as oral herpes /cold sore and even known as fever blisters. It occurs around mouth and lips area. It can be transmitted through sharing same food utensils,sharing lip balm and kissing.&nbsp;<br>Type 2 herpes simplex may have sores around genitals and below waist. It is also well known as genital herpes. it can be transmitted by having sex with multiple sex partner or having sex at younger age and having weakened immune system.<br>Symptoms of this disease is blistering sores (oral/genital areas), pain during urination,itching,headache,fever,tiredness,lack of appetite and swollen lymph nodes.<br>&nbsp;The doctor added that there is no cure for this virus, it just can be deacivated from being vigourous. The prevention for this problem is acyclovir, famciclovir, and valacyclovir are the most effective.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today we had a discussion about tetanus. the doctor explained about what is tetanus actually is about. Tetanus is elastridium tetani, the bacteria (tetanus). Found everywhere especially soil, dust, and feces. Poor hygenie, sanitatiaon and lack of immunization. Will not spread from person to person and 3-21 days the symptom to appear, after injury. Early sign is lockjaw, fever, stiff neck, difficulty in swallowing, facial muscle spasm, and sweating. Tetatus is difficult to treat but easy to prevent and active immunity. Tetanus toxide is given every 10 years to child for boost their immune system.<br>Next, doctor asked me to examine one of the patient with herpes disorder. She had rashes on her waist and she claimed that it hurts her and could not sleep at night. The doctor suggested to her to not take sea foods and bath in turmeric water. he added, not to scratch the rashes. </div>]]></description>

The symptoms of rabies are fever, muscle weakness.Rabies is a viral disease that cause inflammation in the brains in humans and other mammal. It actually attacks the central nervous system of the human body. There is two types of rabies. The first type is furious rabies and paralytic rabies. furious rabies symptoms will be hyperactive and sudden excitable,insomnia,anxiety,confusion,agitation and hallucinations while paralytic rabies which includes slowly become paralyzed, slip into coma and die and WHO 30% are this type.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mumps is a viral disease by mumps virus. Doctor asked me to do research on Mumps and collect some information about mumps. the symptoms include fever,muscle pain, headache,poor appetite, feeling tired and pain,swelling in both parathyroid salivary glands. The complications from mumps are permanent deafness,inflammation to the heart and veins and ovarian swellings. The virus are transmitted by respiratory droplets or direct contact with an infected person. The prevention of mumps are two doses of mumps vaccine. Next, the doctor suggested myself to further study in nutritious and health.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Today i did the dressings by my own without the help of my senior colleagues. I felt satisfied with my work. The doctor shows some of the record of the patient that having diabetic. Some of the patient already passed away. He said, diabetic is one of the major problem that is faced by most of Malaysian. It is a killer disease that killed many people. Next, i helped my other work colleague to fold the gauze that used to perform dressings. I decided to myself to continue my further studies in nutritional and find a formula as a solution for diabetes</div>]]></description>
