They are different because in a republic, the people got to vote where in a dictatorship, Mrs. Weeks chose. They are similar because at least one person chose the song.

A Republic and a Direct Democracy are similar because they both are ruled by the people. They are different because a Republic is ruled by people and representatives but a Direct Democracy is only ruled by people not representatives .
