This specific painting caught my eye as there is more going on within the backdrop which I like. The castle like structure in the the back adds to the overall vibe of the painting as well as giving a sense of security for the mother and her children.

This piece is my favorite because it's one of the few that are in a circular format and have a nice interwinding and flowy border. I also really like how the child is looking so interested in the book even though they probably can't read but they are so invested in the story that their mother is telling them. I think that the background with the lake and thin trees make a really quiet an calm atmosphere to go to read to a child.

I like how Raphael utilizes warm tones and oil paint to show the Renaissance values of Madonna and her children. Additionally, the scenery is beautiful as it reveals a poppy sprouting behind Madonna to represent rebirth.

This oil on wood painting is my favorite art piece from Raphael because I think it is absolutely beautiful and fascinating to look at. I enjoy the warm colors that Raphael chose to use because it makes the painting pop out and is absolutely eye-striking. I also love the symbolism shown through the piece, like the bird in the baby's hand (in Renaissance religious paintings, the small bird typically shown in baby Jesus' hand represents the soul, resurrection, sacrifice, and death).

Raffello Sanzio created various incredible art pieces as part of his Madonnas' work. Out of the ones in the video, this piece was this piece labeled as "Our Lady of Pasadena" was my favorite. Overall this piece has a lot of depth to it, the focus is the woman with a child in her lap. The facial expression between the two has been painted with delicate details so that the viewer can feel their bond and love for each other. In addition to this, I liked how Rafello used oil pastels to carefully paint everything from the center to the background with beautiful detail. These details can be seen from the texture painted, and the color scheme carefully chosen. A specific detail that captured my attention was the color scheme. The painting followed a specific color palette of tones of brownish/yellowish colors throughout making the whole piece come together beautifully.

One reason this piece is my favorite is because of the little smile on the baby's face and the way that he is looking towards us (the viewer of this scene) draws us into this painting, like we are a part of the situation. There is almost a mischievous smile on the baby's face, since he is playing with his mother's shirt - it is as if he knows what he is doing and is being playfully naughty. Madonna is also smiling and looking at her baby endearingly, as she gently tries to stop him from proceeding to put his hand down her shirt. There is quite a lighthearted, humorous atmosphere that Raphael evokes in this scene. I also admire how he captures the flow and transparency of the cloth on Madonna's head and how he is able to paint a very thin, but still visible halo around each of the subjects' heads.

This oil painting by Raphael Sanzio is dated to 1504-1505. I chose this painting because it stood out the most. I likes how in the background you are able to see the sky and the field. It adds color and life to the painting. I also though the bright colors of blue and red on the dress made her stand out. There is just so much attention to details in this painting from facial expressions to painting singular strands of hair.

I chose Raphael's "The Holy Family with Palm" because I enjoy a few things about its composition. The first thing that stood out to me was actually the background. It is incredibly realistic when compared to his other artworks of the same time period. The background helps to create a sense of space and depth in the painting, and it also provides a setting for the Holy Family. The colors used are also bright and vibrant. Secondly, the emotions depicted are those of family intimacy and convey a sense of emotion. Mary is shown looking down at her son with a tender expression, while Joseph is also looking towards his son with a contemplative gaze.

This oil painting by Raphael is from 1508. This painting isn't much different from the others but from the position of the baby and mother, there is more of a connection between them. I enjoy this photo because it shows a mothers love, its warm and touching. This image also adds a lot of detail in the clothing and in their face expressions which helps tell a story.

I chose "Madonna of the Meadow", which is an oil on panel from 1506. I really love this depiction of the Madonna and the Child because it struck me with such emotion when I saw it. I felt like I could feel the tiredness that Mary was feeling in her eyes, but then I looked lower and saw the way her lips curl up into a slight smile as she looks at the baby Jesus. It reminded me that while she is undergoing this holy task, she is still a human. I also love how the Child is portrayed as well. His body is of flesh and blood and you can truly remember that with his anatomy. Especially with the way his baby fat curves and folds as Mary supports him. You can also see how he is learning to walk as one foot points toward the viewer as he tries to walk to the left. Despite this, I felt that his gaze was very deliberate as he looks to St. John the Baptist, reminding us that he knows why he is here on earth.

While looking through the pieces made by Raffello, I came across the Sistine Madonna. The piece has a balanced design using techniques such as illusion and church symbolism. It depicts the Virgin Mary holding Jesus in her arms with two saints on either side with clouds in the background. In the lower bottom, there are two winged angels gazing above the three figures. When looking in the center, the three figures are positioned in a triangular way giving a sense of stability between the three figures emphasizing the Virgin Mary. The lighting in the piece in the upper left half creates somewhat a sense of depth and volume. The drapes around the three figures can also divert your eyes to the nature and composition of the central three figures. The emotions captured by the two saints are connected spiritually to the viewer creating somewhat of an importance to understanding the piece.

The color scheme is extremely cohesive yet muted with brown, red, and blue tones. Everybody has almost a surprised expression on their face and only one of the people are looking directly at Mary. The black behind Madonna brings out the portrait with a lot of life. As if it's trying to show how Madonna brought light to the painting herself. This particular painting is my favorite mostly because it's obviously that it's a portrait because l love how they can express themselves alot more and gives the person alot more character such as facial expressions, and body language. I like how the oil on this painting makes it look more vintage like and character to the model. Another reason this piece caught my attention was because this was the only piece that had a portrait model out of all the others, and it seems to make me think why there is suddenly a portrait in the mixed when the rest had a baby along with the mother.
