She has Laura, Amos, and Mercy as siblings. Her mother died at birth having Mercy. Rebecca is scared of Pa with his temper. It is his way or no way with him. She is scared to even speak let alone look at him.She eventually realizes that Indian John isn't who they make them be. She starts to carry meals up to him.

As read multiple times, Whites are the best around and that is all that matters pretty much.

As Indian John is held captive for murder. He tries to get out any way he can. Eventually he escapes at the end of the book.
