Darry missed out on the chance to get an education because he had to drop out of school to raise ponyboy and sodapop. If he had stayed in school he could have gotten a scholorship . When Because ponyboy gets the oppertunitiy to go to school he may actaully be able to do something with his life and maybe even eventually move away. They go to school because itś required but don´t actually participate in their classes and don´t do their homework or study . If students are not encoraged to maintain good grades in their classes most of the time they will not actually attempt to have good grades. It is very important for students to have encouragement . Students grades have a huge impact on their future . Grades determine where you get into college , college determines what kind of job you can get, and your job determines what kind of future and life you will have.
